Q: What are your rates?
A: Rates vary depending on location, availability, and turn around time. Just ask!
Use the contact link above or send a direct email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be happy to discuss all package options.
Q: Will we receive all the images that you captured?
A: No. I capture a series of images during a moment at your event. I may shoot 3-5 frames of any single moment at a wedding but if an expression or pose isn’t quite flattering or your eyes are closed, those images are set aside. I’ll capture multiple images of your family but keep only the best ones. I select only the finest images with the best expression for the final product.
Q: Who will be photographing my event?
A: I Michael Brinkerhoff will be personally photographing your event.
Q: What is your wedding photography style?
A: It’s a mixture of the following:
Documentary: Honest images that show the setting, atmosphere, details, in between moments, and the mood on your wedding day.
Story Telling: A series of authentic and powerful images that evoke emotions. These images are not posed or planned. They are real moments and they tell a story.
Epic Shots: This is how I like to describe the photo where I set up the bride and groom in the same way I do advertising sessions. I use full studio lights in a beautiful local indoor or outdoor setting.
Post Production Questions
Q: Do you edit the photos?
Every photo I deliver has been edited to my highest quality and artistic standards.
Q: I love my wedding photos but could you edit out all of the power lines, trash on the ground, vehicles in the background, and those two strangers who crashed our wedding?
A: Wedding packages include basic touch ups such as blemish removal. Most of these request may be considered to be extensive photo manipulation. If this is the case, then I have to refer you to a photo manipulation artist who does this kind of work for a living.
Live Event & Performance Photography Questions
Q: Do you photograph corporate or performance events outside of Oregon?
A: Absolutely, I will travel anywhere you need us.
Meeting Policy Questions
Q: Do you recommend a consultation?
A: Yes! Meeting in person is the best way to get to know each other.
Q: We’re really busy and do not have time to meet with you in person. Are there any other options?
A: For those who are pressed for time, out of state, or out of the country, I am happy to offer Skype / FaceTime / Phone consultations.
Q: Do you travel to meet clients?
A: Due to the limitations of my schedule, I do not travel to meet clients.
Q: How long is full day wedding coverage really?
A: From the time your wedding day starts, till the time when it ends and your guests go home, I will be there to capture your entire wedding day. I don’t ever want to be looking at my watch while a bride is stressed out because the wedding is running late and my time is almost up. These things can happen and this is why hiring us will make the photography side of your big day, the least stressful aspect of your wedding.
Q: Why do I need two wedding photographers?
A: I spend most of the day running around capturing as many moments as I can, but there is no way one photographer can be everywhere. I like to be where the most important stories are taking place, but that leaves me missing out on every thing else going on. With two photographers we can cover multiple sides of your wedding day at the same time. More coverage means more photos.
Q: How long have you been photographing weddings?
A: After winning several photojournalistic awards while working at a newspaper in 2006, I was hired to photograph my first wedding. Not only was it was it an incredible new way to apply photojournalism at the time, I ended up loving it so much that I started my own business and I’ve been doing it ever since.
Q: Are you willing travel?
A: Absolutely! I am a destination photographer. I am happy to travel anywhere you desire to have a photo session.
Q: Are there any limits to how many images? How many photos will we get?
A: There are no limits on images. I typically deliver between 400-600 images. It depends on how long I am there and how crazy your wedding day is.
Q: Do you include a print release?
A: Yes! I include a print release form so you can make as many prints as you want whenever you want. I am happy to provide high quality professional prints and canvases if you desire the best.
Q: Do you take family portraits on wedding day?
A: Yes! These are always fun to do and I am happy to help pose the family so everyone looks their best.
Q: I have a several family members who love photography, can they take photos during my wedding?
A: Yes! I am happy to work among other photographers as long as they stay out of the spotlight. I do offer discounts for “unplugged” weddings.
Q: My wedding venue doesn’t allow flash photography inside the building. Can you take photos in low light?
A: Certainly! I didn’t become one of Oregon’s premiere dance performance photographer by using flash photography. I photograph a lot of low light/high action performances under conditions that make most professional photographers run away screaming. The same goes for weddings. You say you have a 9pm at night wedding in a church and it is completely candle lit? No Problem!
Q: I have a friend whose photographer charged them unexpected fees after the wedding over and paid for. Is this something you do?
A: Absolutely not. There are NO hidden or additional fees. Every service, product, and cost is explained in our consultation and is clearly outlined in the contract. I will never charge you more for the package you have already paid for.
Q: I’m a dancer and I’m getting married soon. Should I hire you?
A: You would be crazy not to! Dance is one of the most difficult things to photograph. I have over 10 years of experience photographing both weddings and dance performances. Interested in having exciting dance photo taken at your wedding? I’ve got you covered!
